Hmm... I dunno man, this is more of a "not take" than a hot one.
Honestly, I think it really depends on what kind of content you're putting out on Youtube. My experience with it as a user is much, much different. Then again, I can't even recall the last time I watched a "lifestyle vlogger" on Youtube. I go there for videos on how to fix things, product comparisons, DJ tips and techniques...
Out of curiousity I just went and checked the top ten in my subscribed list to see how they're getting along - everyone's got a heavy pile of followers and comments as recent as an hour ago. Many of them use Youtube for free content and then publish supporter content on Substack and/or Patreon, but their biggest audiences are still on Youtube.
