The weird thing is that I don't have this experience on either of those platforms - depends on where you hang out, I guess, but since Twitter is mostly writing and academics for me and Reddit is electronic music production and dj'ing, the worst I get is being called "bro" a lot in the reddit di forums because it's such a male-dominated world in general.
