To be fair, a very small amount of people are using these things and events as texts for critical thinking - an even bigger problem, IMHO is that the larger percentage of people who have no concept of what critical thinking is still have a public platform. Yeah, I guess that in and of itself can *also* be used as a text for critical examination but oh it hurts and it definitely makes me feel so much less hopeful for our species.. I dunno, after watching a bunch of butthurt white people attack a family for sending their three happy little Black kids to school in Black Lives Matter shirts (assume every cliche response you've ever heard, including BLM being violent, "all lives matter" and "that's racist,"), I am almost convinced that intelligent conversation cannot be had in public venues anymore. We just need to make sure that the venues that are safe for it are made more safely inclusive and let the rest just stupid themselves out of existence, I guess. I dunno, I am pretty over 90% of the human species right now 😂
