And yet, if I look into an ideal future, I see a family there. I see us out surfing with our kids, me being a badass mom who is loving and supportive, yet who nudges her kids to grow. A mom who challenges them to push through their fears to the unknown wonder on the other side. A woman who leads by example. I like that vision of myself.

you are pretty much golden then. NO ONE is ever totally ready to become a parent, regardless of how much they prepare — and a lot of your ideas about the future fly out the window after you have them anyway.
